Berlin-based language service providers think global GmbH and Milengo Ltd. today announced their merger. The formation of think global Milengo GmbH will combine the knowledge and infrastructure of both companies in order to deliver highly scalable, technology-driven language solutions.
With 35 years of industry experience, 70+ employees and a network of several thousand hand-picked professional translators, the new company positions itself as a prominent language service provider for large, international customers looking to expand into global markets.
“Our primary focus for the merger was scalability. By bringing together the knowledge and experience of both teams, as well as aligning our internally developed technologies and cloud-based solutions, we are able to scale to meet the demands of customers with annual localization budgets in excess of $1 million,” said Roman Kotzsch, who held the CEO position at both think global GmbH and Milengo Ltd. prior to the merger and will continue on in this role at the merged company. “My 10+ years of experience working with team members from both companies over the years gives me great confidence in the success of the merger and our plans for the future,” he added.
Berlin will remain the company’s headquarters, with both teams moving together into a 1,000 sqm office space in the city’s bustling Mitte district. In addition, all staff will retain their positions at the new company. “This is extremely important for me, as the decision to merge was not based on restructuring and cost saving. We have a fantastic team of individuals from over 20 countries, many of whom bring more than 15 years of localization industry experience to the table. And with our base in Berlin, one of Europe’s most sought-after destinations, we’re also extremely well placed to attract new talent and continue to grow,” continued Kotzsch.
Both brands will be kept following the merger, with think global covering the D-A-CH market and Milengo focusing on the international market as a whole.
