milengo Inc. Opens New GPM Center in Brazil

In September, milengo inaugurated a new Global Project Management (GPM) Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The new GPM center is designed to meet the growing demand for qualified global project management from milengo clients in the United States and Canada. Brazil offers the advantage of its privileged time zone, allowing milengo to quickly respond to US clients on the East and West coasts, as well as in Canada.

Besides the time zone factor, Brazil has recently positioned itself as an important offshore center in the global localization arena, offering highly specialized services at competitive rates. Not to mention the fact that Rio de Janeiro has been considered the localization hub in Brazil ever since the largest and most important global players based their Brazilian operations in the city. Understanding this dynamic, milengo seized the opportunity created by recent developments in the industry — downsizing from major mergers and acquisitions and the transfer of production centers to India — to hire seasoned professionals with years of experience.

"In the localization industry, sophisticated projects require highly specialized key-account project managers that can effectively analyze the client's specific processes and requirements," explained Roman Kotzsch, CEO of milengo.

"By installing the new GPM Center, milengo can guarantee the most efficient localization strategy for its clients. Brazil was the natural choice as it would allow us to dedicate as much time to our clients as they need while guaranteeing the advantage of senior-level project managers."

Brazilian Cassius Figueiredo will head the new milengo GPM Center. An industry veteran with over 10 years of experience, Figueiredo worked as Senior Project Manager at Lionbridge Technologies (formerly Bowne Global Solutions) for six years, serving clients such as Microsoft, Nokia and PalmOne. He brings not only extensive linguistic skills to his new position, but also a comprehensive engineering background, having worked as a software developer, technical reviewer and content creator.

"I am both pleased and proud to join milengo and to become part of the 2G Localization Alliance," said Figueiredo.

"milengo is offering its clients something new and exciting. It is great to be a part of this process and use my industry experience to run the new GPM Center."

Founded in 2003, milengo Inc. is owned by 16 leading technical translation and localization companies located in the most important IT markets spanning Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia.

A full-service company, milengo performs technical translation, software and website localization, DTP, engineering, testing and other consulting services. milengo is also the largest 2nd Generation (2G) Localization Alliance in the market.
