DTP & Graphic Engineering

The milengo 2G worldwide production team excels at transforming localized text into ready-to-publish online or print content. Before evaluating and preparing the files for translation, milengo evaluates the client's choice of technology, tools and production strategy within a global perspective. Our desktop publishing teams use the most advanced plug-ins and conversion filters with the main CAT tools to convert complex DTP files into translation-ready RTF files. In doing so, we decrease the overall production time while reducing costs.

Our DTP experts also perform graphic and illustration localization as well as screen capturing. Additionaly, we ensure that all online formats are delivered with the appropriate coding, links and programming necessary for fully compiled, localized files.

GOING BEYOND THE STANDARD

milengo allows its clients to reap the cost advantages of centralizing DTP tasks within milengo offices in low-cost countries. For all of our new projects, regardless of size, complexity or language, we perform a dual-layer milengo DTP Linguistic Quality Assurance process to verify consistency and satisfaction over the short and long-term.

milengo 2G DTP QA

  • As part of the DTP quality control check, the milengo production staff examines the entire body text and document for potential flaws.
  • Special attention is given to elements such as headers and footers, index entries, graphic and screen shots, captions, page and paragraph formatting, text formatting, etc.
  • Tests are performed to ensure that any text printed on pages between the title and the table of contents contains the correct information for each localized version, such as copyright date, part number and trademark information.

milengo 2G DTP LQA

  • The project is assigned to an independent, in-country linguistic specialist (who was not involved in the project) to ensure objectivity during final testing.
  • Once the translation and QA phase is complete, a final quality check is performed to ensure that all parts of the translation meet customer specifications and expectations, including formatting, style and terminology consistency.
  • Whenever appropriate, translation memories are also updated during this stage.
