How do you define quality in the language services and translation industry, is quality just subjective?

In the penultimate episode in our series, and with Localization World in Seattle just around the corner, Renato and Kirti discuss industry events.

Here at Milengo, we assist clients with their language support commonly after LingoPort has finished their work. And we too notice clients’ needs for Canadian Language support is different when it is deal-based, rather than as part of a broader sales plan, so I too will focus my ideas on that part. I wanted to use this blog to illustrate some examples of projects we’ve worked on to give readers ideas on what processes and technology are available and what is do-able, to help stretch your budget when sales lands a big new deal in Canada.

Since May 1, 2008, the London Agreement, meant to reduce costs relating to the translation of European patents, has been in effect. The London Agreement provides for patent claims to be available in the national language of the states where the European patent is registered, while the description — which represents the bulk of the text of a patent — can be made available in English, French, or German, the official languages of the EPO (European Patent Office).

In this weeks episode Renato & Kirti are joined by Bob Donaldson from text & form to discuss dis-intermediation. With current business models in the localization industry changing as technology advances, who will be left without a seat when the music stops?
